Moving

I haven't posted for a while because I've been trying to figure out what to do with this blog in both the short run and the long run.

Short run: I got a job in Washington, D.C. and am moving there at the end of May. Plus, I'm going to be in Europe for half of May. My energy is pretty much completely focused on these two things right now and I doubt I will get around to blogging in the next month or two.

Long run: I haven't decided if I'm going to rename this blog and keep it alive, or shutter it. Certainly the focus would change, if I kept it (or started a new one), although it would probably concern many of the same things.

I don't know. I need to think on it some more.

Well, I will miss your Florida commentary! but good luck, congrats, & so forth. I hope you will continue, now with a changing perspective.

Here's the thing about blogging... there are no rules. It's okay if you do or don't write for a while. Since you don't know what to do I say go to Europe and if you get the chance to write, then write, if not you'll have some great stuff to share when you get back. We'll be waiting. Take the blog with you when you move... then decide. Too much going on right now to make the decision. You wouldn't want to leave this blog behind and then regret it. Did you know you can export your blog to another blog? It's really easy to do.

That's my 2 cents. I have you linked at my blog and I READ yours all the time. :-)

I am so sorry to hear that you are moving. I am trying so hard to find other north Florida garden blogs and I was so glad to find yours. I think Meems gave you some great advice - you definitely should think of it as your "blog on the road". Good luck and I hope you have a FABULOUS time.

Congrats on the new job. We worked/lived in DC for a few years after college. Call/email me if you need any advice on where to find a good place live, etc. Generally speaking, MD is more liberal and VA is more conservative. DC itself is a good mix of the two but is really expensive.

Hello,

My name is kristina. I really enjoyed hearing about your adventure in ginnie springs. If I saw that snake I wouldve jumped out of my skin!
Well, the reason I searched you out it because I'm helping with an event called ecomania 2009 in boca raton fl. It is an all day rock concert with green vendors etc. This is our first year and we will be working hard to make this as sustainable as possible! True green is our sponsor and they'll be providing recycling and such. I'm trying to find the best organic food vendors I can! I have been living in berkley ca and just moved back in Jan. I'm enjoying getting acquanted with the local 'green' movers and shakers :) Its a smaller 'green' pond over here on the east side but growing!

I just wanted to say hello. I'm not sure if you have completed your move yet but I wish you all the best luck. If you'll happen to be around boca on aug 22nd come on out!

Also, I'm very passionate about increasing awareness and helping local orgs do the same. Perhaps you you know of any non-profits that would like the opportunity for outreach? We have a few booth spaces set aside to donate to that sort of thing.

Again, good luck with your move. There is nothing as beautiful as fall in the north-east :)
